RCS Logistics, Committed to Continuous Improvement Through Workforce Development

The RCS Logistics management team and Talent Training (UK) LLP worked together to develop a bespoke Training Programme that focused on the warehouse operation at the businesses head office in Corby.

North East based national training company Talent Training (UK) LLP approached RCS Logistics to discuss the opportunity for the RCS Logistics business to be involved in a fully funded workforce development programme in partnership with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). This opportunity was welcomed by the RCS Logistics management team, as it was seen to form a key part of the companies drive for continuous improvement.

The RCS Logistics management team and Talent Training (UK) LLP worked together to develop a bespoke Training Programme that focused on the warehouse operation at the businesses head office in Corby.

Talent Training (UK) LLP spoke to each staff member individually to discuss the opportunity for them to receive a national qualification in recognition for the job they do and the skills they possess, while being coached on how they could improve their performance and how they fitted into the bigger picture of the companies goals. The take up was extremely encouraging which indicated a willing and open approach culture and this proved to be the case as the programme moved forward.
The training programme needed to deliver the high expectations of a fast moving, lean logistics operation as well as cover the course modules to satisfy the strict funding requirements of the LSC. I am happy to say that both were achieved. In fact the programme has had such a positive response from both the management and staff engaged in the learning process, that training programmes for other areas of the business are being planned.

It is clear that RCS Logistics are a forward thinking business focused on improving the service to their customers in an increasingly competitive market. They have the foresight to invest in their staff through training that not only recognises and rewards staff with national qualifications but also improves their skill set leading to improved performances throughout the business. RCS Logistics are certainly raising their own bar, not only making it harder for their competitors, but more importantly making their systems and processes more robust for their customers.
